Civil Engineer

Civil engineers typically possess an academic degree with a major in civil engineering. The academic degree course is of mostly 3- 5 years. This academic course comprise of units covering physics, mathematics, project management, design and specific topics in civil engineering. Then students choose 1 specialized  subject towards the end of the degree. In most of the country Bachelor degree provide the certificate of the engineering profession. After completing a certified degree program the engineer must satisfy a range of requirements (including work experience and exam requirements) before being certified. Once certified the engineer can be registered as a professional engineer.
Certified engineer cannot directly implement a project or carry out their engineering work in Nepal. They must have license to do the formal work like signature in the proposed drawing, in a valuation report and in a design estimate.

Civil Engineering

According to Encyclopedia Civil engineering is a  professional engineering that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment including bridge, dam, canals and road construction. It is regarded as one of the 2nd oldest engineering in the history of engineering. It comes after the military engineering. Civil engineering takes place in different levels it takes place in the local level leading it to the national level also with the private sectors also involved in it.
Civil engineering as a profession is of a top choice nowadays regarding it's curriculum it covers and the aspects it touches. While we cannot say it as the only best profession in the engineering.  The many engineering field there exist are co-related because a single engineering field cannot lead a project. Thus, civil engineering field is also related or dependent on other fields also.

History of Civil Engineering

Civil engineering can be defined as the applied physical and scientific principles, and its history is very much closely linked to advances in understanding of physics and mathematicians throughout history. Because civil engineering is a wide ranging profession, including several separate specialized sub-disciplines, its history is linked to knowledge of structure, materials science, geography, geology, soils, hydrology, environment, ,mechanics and other fields.
Throughout ancient and medieval history most architectural design and construction was carried out by artisans, such as stonemasons and carpenters, rising to the role of master builder. Structures, roads and infrastructure that existed were repetitive, and increases in scale were incremental.
One of the oldest examples of a scientific approach to physical and mathematical problems applicable to civil engineering is the work of Archemedes in the 3rd century BC, including Archimedes Principle, which underpins our understanding of buoyancy, and practical solutions such as Archimedes Screw .

Carrer In Civil Engineering

There is no one typical career path for civil engineers. Most people who graduate with civil engineering degrees start with jobs that require a low level of responsibility, and as the new engineers prove their competence, they are trusted with tasks that have larger consequences and require a higher level of responsibility. In the context of Nepal here a beginner Engineer establish itself through a engineering consultancy where they can gain experience. However, within each branch of civil engineering career path options vary. In some fields and firms, entry-level engineers are put to work primarily monitoring construction in the field referred as a supervisor, serving as the "eyes and ears" of senior design engineers; while in other areas, entry-level engineers perform the more routine tasks of analysis or design and interpretation. Experienced engineers generally do more complex analysis or design work, or management of more complex design projects, or management of other engineer.

Nepal As The Field Of Engineering

Nepal  being a mountainous country challenges the theory of physics and the capabilities of the engineer to it’s limit. As there is an old saying that we cannot progress because of the structure and it’s geographical prospects it is wrong. We can look and view the example of the country Switzerland. It has much more complex structure than our country but it has developed a lot it has all the engineering structure there. Thus we can say we can do here in Nepal. In the past there has been progress in Nepal  but it can b concerned as a minority regarding the development done in the world. We are 50 years or much more years behind in the field of development.

Loking At The Past About Our Country Nepal

In the context of Nepal the construction work regarding all the engineering fields including the civil engineering had been carried out with help of the foreign aid. The major construction works are the East west highway or the Mahendra Highway which joins the East and west of our country Nepal and is situated in the Terai region of Nepal. Exploring about the history of road construction in Nepal, Nepal's first pavaed road was built with the aid from India in the early 1950's.

Improvement Required And What Can Be Done

Regarding the present status of the projects being carried out in our country Nepal, I being a Nepali citizen as a viewer can say that there is a lot of area for the progress and areas to be improved. Firstly let's touch the roads of Nepal. Is it due to the political instability or the nature of the contractor the same roads are being constructed after just a year gap. The roadways of Nepal are not so planned. They should not only join two places but also create a space for future development also. As we can see that some roads are a narrow where a heavy truck gets stuck and places where two can go through. I think they should be more planned and of better quality. Let's take the example of the China bridge situated at Pokhara, the roads of the bridge is still the same and in good condition which is more than 15 years old where as the roads after the bridge requires maintenance and construction every year here and then. This is a matter of concern.

How To Get Bachelor Degree In Nepal

The certificate of engineering is gained by taking major in the engineering sub-disciplines. In the  context of Nepal there are 4 universities which provide the degree of engineering. They are
1.TRIBHUVAN UNIVERSITY

Longest Bridge of Nepal

The longest Bridge of Nepal is located at the Jhapa District of Nepal. It is Known as the kankai Pool also. It Length is of about 703 metres. Being the longest in Nepal it is also the 2nd longest in Asia also. The longest bailey bridge is on Mahakali river connecting rest of Nepal to the 2 Nepali villages beyond Mahakali called Chandani and Dodhara villages. In Detail we Explore than we found out that it is located in the surunga V.D.C. in the Jhapa District in the Mechi zone of the Nepal.

Naranhity Museum as a fine art

In the past the Naranhity Museum situated in the Kathmandu city the capital city of Nepal,It served as the residence of the monarch which then turned into a museum immediately after the country turned into republic. The original Palace was constructed under the shah dynasty in the early eighteen century. but it was destroyed during the earthquake i 1934.It was rebuilt in a contemporary style in the 1960s on the design of Architect Benjamin Polk(Chatterjee & Polk). On 1 June 2001, the palace was the site of the Nepalese Royal Massacre, where King Birendra of Nepal and Queen Ashwariya were shot dead along with seven other members of the Royal Family.
This Building carrying it's own  history and also posses a fine art of construction. From it's layout to the foundation it's small piece of decoration is of fine art
